COLIN LILLIE is certainly one of a kind. This gypsy Scotsman has found a new life in Alice Springs in the Australian central desert where he has thrived as a songwriter. Colin released his debut album “Glass Homes” in 2016 and managed to take out the AU Review people’s choice Australian Artist Of The Year award.

In early 2020 he released the Mark Lizotte (DIESEL) produced “Petrichor” EP. August 2021 saw the release “Shades Of Love” Colin’s second studio album in February 2022 he released a new EP produced Catherine Britt. You don’t have to delve very deep into Colin’s lyrics or the heart of his voice to know his songs are driven by someone who has all of the shades of life experience to lean into. This rang true with his 2017 and 2019 awards for Best Live Voice at the National Live Music Awards. Colin has also been getting into co-writing with the likes of Rohin Jones (The Middle East) & Tyrone Noonan (George).

Pre 2020 Colin was well on the way to becoming one of Australia’s hardest touring artists supporting the likes of DIESEL, BUSBY MAROU, JAMES REYNE, and THE ANIMALS on their relentless tour schedules and making friends everywhere he went. Colin also performed five shows at the 2019 Woodford Folk Festival and made it to New Orleans in early 2020 as part of the Folk Alliance International Festival. His second full studio “Shades Of Love” was recorded at Wild Mountain Studios with enigmatic producer Jamie Trevaskis (The Wilson Pickers) and together Colin and Jamie found a darker honesty in his performances than on any previous releases.

The time since that has been as unpredictable for Colin as anyone else in the music industry – but certainly not without its highlights. Colin recorded a new EP from with two critically acclaimed songs have already been released – The War, followed by The Road, a duet with Catherine Britt who also happens to run Beverley Hillbilly Records, the label that Colin is now signed too. Add to that Colin has been once again invited to perform at the prestigious Folk Alliance conference/showcase in Kansas City in May this year – with the plan being that this will be followed by a serious of American dates with Catherine Britt.

ARIA and 8x Golden Guitar winning artist Fanny Lumsden ‘ has established herself as one of the one of the genre’s most esteemed performers’ (The Australian) with her ARIA chart topping and breakthrough album Fallow which took out every album of the year category in 2020 and 2021. Known for her Country Halls Tour, her energetic live shows are filled with harmonies, storytelling and joy. Henry is renowned as a master craftsmen of the stage, carving out his place like no-other. He soaks up inspiration from spectres of the past in Hazelwood and Elvis, also the many comrades with whom he has shared the stage with, such as Lucinda Williams and Justin Townes Earle, all intertwined by a passion for classic song-craft. Intimacy reinforces connection. Akin to trapping a butterfly, Mark Wilkinson bottles the most intimate moments of his life within the quiet space between delicate piano, soft strings, gentle guitar, and eloquent lyricism. In his songs, the Sydney-based singer and songwriter allows listeners to get as close as possible to him— almost as if he’s speaking directly to them through his dynamic delivery and soulful timbre. Playing piano and cello as a kid, Mark picked up a guitar in college and never put it down. He busked on three different continents and unveiled music of his own at a prolific pace. Following his 2011 full-length debut Truth Came Running, he gained international momentum with independent LPs such as Let The River Run [2013], Hand Picked, Vol. 2 [2015], Wasted Hours [2018], and Blue Eyed Girls [2019] to name a few. Christened SiriusXM’s “Discovery of the Year” upon his U.S. introduction in 2013, he has also impressively moved over 80,000 units and counting in addition to scaling the Australian Independent Charts at #1. Meanwhile, he lit up streaming platforms with the likes of “I’m On Fire” [Conki Remix], generating north of 23.5 million Spotify streams. Of his gigs, Huffington Post noted, “The buzz around Wilkinson’s live performances has been growing (he continues to sell out shows across Australia and throughout Europe, all without formal marketing support or promotional campaigns).”

Over the past few years, he assembled what would become Mariposa with producer Peter Holz [Gang of Youths, Peking Duk, Vance Joy] behind the board and mixing courtesy of Logan Matheny [Sam Hunt, Judah & The Lion]. He filtered a series of major life changes and big questions into the songwriting.

Melody Moko is a woman who embraces and thrives on change. Born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, she’s lived in Queensland and New South Wales, become a mother of three, and as a critically acclaimed songwriter – she’s taken her music to the world since the release of debut album in 2017.

Melody knew early on that she “wanted to sing like Linda Ronstadt, and write songs like Bob Dylan.” That awareness of song and performance led to her traveling around Australia, playing her songs and winning songwriting awards in her early teens. The allure of international travel took her to the USA where she had the honour of performing at iconic country music venues such as Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe, The Continental Club in Austin, Texas and Hank William’s favourite hangout, Tootsies.

In 2017 Melody released her debut album, ‘The Wreckage’, co-produced by multi- instrumentalist (and partner) Michael Moko and award-winning songwriter Catherine Britt. An album that celebrates life but doesn’t avoid its pitfalls, it covers everything from bluegrass to folk-pop, with a strong seam of Australian roots and gentle twang.

As the new decade began, so did an exciting new chapter in the Melody’s musical story. In 2019 she embarked on another successful USA tour, with Catherine Britt, and traveled to Nashville, TN to record her second album – “Two Kids and A Radio” – with acclaimed producer Neilson Hubbard and co-producer Michael Moko.

Off the back of the album, Melody entered the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart at #1, #3 ARIA Country Albums, #9 ARIA Australian Albums, #40 ARIA Albums Chart and #1 AIR 100% Independent Albums. She also earned three nominations at the 2021 Golden Guitar Awards – Alt Country Album of The Year, Female Artist of The Year and New Talent of The Year. Melody was awarded the Golden Guitar for New Talent of The Year for the song, “Like Hank Would”, which would also be crowned QMA Country Song of the Year in May 2021. She was also named a nominee for the prestigious Australian Music Prize and named iHeart Country’s Artist of the Week.

Her hugely anticipated third album, ‘Suburban Dream’, will be recorded in the US in September 2022 and slated for release in early 2023.

2017-2022 saw The Weeping Willows nominated for 10 x CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ awards, 4 x Country Music Channel (CMC) awards, 2 x Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs), Live Act of the Year (Country) in the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs), performing at AmericanaFest (USA), Folk Alliance International (USA), Maverick Festival (UK), Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival, Out On The Weekend and the Australian Americana Music Honours. In recent years they have supported Lukas Nelson & POTR (USA), Hayes Carll (USA), Iris DeMent (USA), Eilen Jewell (USA) and Willie Watson (USA) and completed national and international tours in support of their sophomore album, Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’, which received four-star reviews in Rolling Stone, The Australian and The Music. When you look at modern country music you can identify a diverse range of styles that have evolved from the traditional roots form. From pop country to bush ballads, acoustic folk-leaning songs to rousing country rock and the polymorphic blend of Americana. One Australian artist that can lay claim to all of these strains is Catherine Britt, a songwriter who has already packed a respected and highly acclaimed career into her first two decades as a recording artist.

From Newcastle to Nashville, Catherine made the move to the home of country music at just 17 years old. It proved to be a brave decision that gave her immeasurable experience as a musician, insight into the machinations of the industry and a contract with the legendary RCA Records. Upon returning to Australia in 2009, Catherine set about recording her debut full length album Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak Cures, the first of five consecutive albums nominated for Album Of The Year at the CMAA (Country Music Awards of Australia). Hailing from Fremantle, the music and arts capital of Western Australia, Helen Townsend and Shannon Smith are an Americana/Folk Duo quickly gaining recognition for their sublime harmonies, incisive song writing and on stage chemistry and charm. Reminiscent of Welch/Rawlings and Harris/Crowell these two capture your imagination and heart.

Their first EP “Love, Lies ‘n’ Leaving” debuted at #2 on the National AIR Independent Music Charts, with two singles “Devils Curse” and “Where Are You Now” topping the AMRAP Charts. Further still “Devils Curse” was a finalist in the 2020 International Songwriting Competition and 2021 WAM (West Australian Music Industry) roots category “Song of the Year”.

Katie Bates has a heart steeped in great and spirited American music – from The Flying Burrito Brothers and The Band to Nirvana and Audioslave. This is no doubt the product of a family with a healthy vinyl collection and active subscriptions to Triple R and PBS. She is very much inspired by the music, culture and fashion of the 1960s and 1970s. And proudly so.

Her new EP, ‘Until The Day Dies’, is built around an era in Katie’s life involving both self-love and self-doubt, but also discovery as a human and an artist. Self Proclaimed and Polka Dot Dress have the rockier/heavier tones that bridge the gap between country and rock, which is a taste of what’s to come beyond this EP. Yes, Katie is – like any real creative artist – already looking to the future, the next recordings, the next gigs.

When not touring her own music, she’s the bassist in an array of Americana bands including Ben Mastwyk & the Millions, Dan Brodie and Catherine Britt.

Lozz Benson is an in-demand session musician, vocalist, drummer and multi-instrumentalist with a career spanning over 15 years. Through this time, Benson’s craft has been recognised by a wide variety of musicians who have called on her to play and add her sound to their catalogues.

Her well-known shuffle and work behind the drums has seen her perform with acts including the John Butler Trio, Urthboy, Missy Higgins, The Wiggles, Kate Ceberano, Mahalia Barnes, Bill Chambers & Marcia Hines. As a songwriter she has worked with Troy Cassar-Daley, Tom Wolfe, Paul Kelly, Duncan Toombs, Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) and as a vocalist was mentored by Keith Urban on 2021’s season of “The Voice”. She has also supported The Darkness, Slim Jim Phantom (The Stray Cats) and Hevenshe (Jenna McDougall) in her various respectable bands.

Though Lozz loves playing the Autoharp, Keytar, Dulcimer & Piano, her true love is for the drums, with her heart and soul in every beat.

Whilst playing for other artists, Lozz is currently working on her own debut solo EP, which will feature her original ‘Cosmic Australiana’ sounding songs.
