Amidst record snowfall and below-freezing temperatures, Folk Alliance International returned to Montreal, Canada for the first time since 2019. For other showcase festivals, this kind of weather would have been a total disaster. Not Folk Alliance though. Since the event always takes place inside one hotel, what better way to escape the cold weather than to park yourself inside and watch some of the best emerging folk artists from around the world?
Music spilled out of various rooms of the Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel across multiple days in February, sometimes running until two or three in the morning. Not great if you love sleep. Fantastic if you love music.
