Hailing from the deep south of regional Western Australia, Oceanique combines close harmonies, wonder and warm melodies leaving you with the feeling of staring up at a big blue country sky. Now based in Melbourne, twin sisters Maddy and Jess craft music rich in the folk storytelling tradition with seamless blood harmonies and reflective lyrics. A sound that calls to mind the sibling harmonies of First Aid Kit and The Waifs.
Oceanique have been crafting their unique folk music since 2019, they were awarded Folk Alliance Australia’s ‘Youth Artist of the Year’ (2022) and Port Fairy Folk Festivals ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’ (2024), welcoming them into the arms of the Australian folk music community, seeing them playing some of Australia’s most prestigious folk festivals in 2023-2024, National Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, National Celtic Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Port Fairy Folk Festival along with supporting artists like The Waifs, Emily Barker and Little Quirks.
