Ernest Aines is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter whose spellbinding voice has been described as one that “turns every head towards the stage and suspends conversation” (Independent Music Review). Based in Melbourne, he has rapidly built an international reputation as a captivating live performer, drawing comparisons to Ray LaMontagne, Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake.

Aines’ acclaimed debut album Spiral Bound (2023) earned widespread praise for its exceptional lyricism, intricate guitar work and boundary-crossing creativity. Rhythms Magazine hailed it as “universal, borderless and timeless”, while Canadian reviewers called it “breathtaking” and “endlessly impressive.” His songs showcase poetic storytelling, dynamic vocals and virtuosic guitar.

Ernest has toured the UK extensively, selling out shows across England, Scotland and Ireland. Highlights include Cambridge Folk Festival, Cardiff Royal Concert Hall, live sessions on the BBC, and invitations to return for Celtic Connections 2025. He has officially-showcased for Folk Alliance International (Kansas City 2023), including a performance archived by the Library of Congress, and received personal praise and encouragement from folk legend Tom Paxton.

With a US O-1 visa application underway, Ernest is now expanding further internationally. He will open for the Global Guitar Festival in Sydney, Liverpool (UK) and Seattle in 2026, alongside continued UK touring and upcoming US dates (visa dependent). His second album is set for release in 2026.
Poised between folk tradition and contemporary indie craft, Ernest Aines is emerging as a powerful new Australian voice on the global stage—an artist whose live performances consistently leave audiences enthralled.
