Australian Music At CUEW 2026

CUEW Showcase & Conference returns to Tokyo, Japan next week.

Sounds Australia is proud to be an International Support Partner for this year’s CUEW Showcase & Conference in Tokyo, Japan.

Two Australian acts – Rum Jungle and Yorke – will be performing at the event, which is taking place from 9 – 12 April, thanks to support from Sound NSW. The opportunity developed out of the Sound x Sounds Inbound Exchange in October last year, when a delegation of Japanese music industry representatives, including the co-organiser of CUEW, came to Sydney.

Both acts will perform on the CUEW Stage as part of SYNCHRONICITY’26, a multi-venue, two-day showcase festival in Shibuya.

YORKE
Saturday 11 April, Shibuya Fows, 18:45 – 19:30

Yorke’s new EP unfinished business is out now. On this EP, painstakingly crafted by Yorke in Australia, Los Angeles, London and New Zealand, lead vocal melodies are crafted as if each syllable is as important and sacred as the last. The listener can sense the care and skill with which each line has been built; yet another example of the level of growth Yorke has achieved as an artist over the last couple of years.

Internationally, Yorke has made a significant impact in Japan and Korea with her viral single ‘Window Shopping’ ft. Joan, which has garnered over 13 million streams. In June 2025 she embarked on her first trip to Tokyo to support renowned Japanese rock band, indigo la End at their sold out Tokyo show at The International Forum Hall. Yorke and indigo la End also released a collaboration song in July 2025, a Yorke original track, titled ‘Sorry In Advance’. Her music has been shared by K-Pop titans TWICE and SixTONES, and indigo la End used her single ‘like in the movies’ as their walk on track for their tour last year.

RUM JUNGLE
Sunday 12 April, Tokio Tokyo, 13:50 – 14:30

Hailing from the coastal alleyways of a steel city, Rum Jungle brings you gritty alt-rock anthems, heartfelt ballads, and everything in between – songs that capture a magnetic, introspective, and hyper-reflective state of mind.

With pop melodies, psychedelic guitars, and chilled groove beats, their sound delivers a sweet and loveable vibe—like cracks in the share house walls that the homeowners don’t mind because the party’s just too good. The lads have quickly built a global fanbase, leading to sold-out shows across the UK, Europe, and Australia. They’ve showcased their surf-rock-alt-pop mastery at The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, and SXSW (Sydney).
