HEADSEND

Byron Bay three-piece HEADSEND — Rasmus King, Kyuss King and Bon Soric — have built their reputation the old-fashioned way: on stage. Over the past year the band have emerged as one of Australia’s most compelling new live acts, sharpening their sound through relentless touring and supporting Wunderhorse on their sold-out Australian run, while also stepping onto arena and stadium stages alongside Tool and AC/DC.

Their rise has been driven by loud, direct performances that prioritise feel over polish and leave little distance between band and audience. As Scenestr noted after seeing them open for Tool, “audiences are transfixed by the band.”

HEADSEND’s debut EP Angel Glands (out March 27) captures that same raw energy. Recorded live in-studio with Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots), the EP preserves the dynamics and physicality that have defined the band’s word-of-mouth reputation as a live act. The release features the ferocious singles Stove and Chugg alongside the woozy anthem And Angel, translating the intensity of their shows directly to tape.

With more than 40 shows played across Australia in the past year alone, HEADSEND have built momentum in rooms, clubs and festival stages across the country. Their upcoming run of dates — including their first appearance at The Great Escape — marks the next step as the band expand their live footprint into the UK and Europe.

Angel Glands arrives as a snapshot of a band already operating at full intensity on stage — now pressing that energy to record without losing the scale of the room.
