Hamed Sadeghi
Hamed Sadeghi is a Persian-Australian composer, tar virtuoso, and artistic director whose work bridges Persian musical traditions with contemporary jazz and improvised music. Based in Sydney, he is the founder of Eishan Ensemble, an internationally acclaimed group that has toured extensively across Australia, Europe, Asia, and New Zealand.
Sadeghi’s music has been presented at major festivals and venues including the London Jazz Festival, Rome Jazz Festival, WOMAD, Sydney Festival, and the Sydney Opera House. His compositional voice is deeply rooted in his Persian heritage while embracing modern forms, improvisation, and cinematic textures, creating a distinctive cross-cultural sound.
His recent works, including Northern Rhapsody and Convergence, have been performed widely and continue to reach diverse audiences internationally.
Beyond the concert stage, Sadeghi has composed for theatre, dance, and film, collaborating with leading organisations such as Sydney Dance Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, and Belvoir. His work has earned nominations for major Australian awards including the ARIA Awards and APRA Art Music Awards.
