Fool Nelson are a three-piece indie rock trio comprised of two brothers and their best mate. Hailing from Boorloo/Perth WA, they have quickly made a name for themselves, packing out venues with their energetic live show and a knack for writing catchy tunes. The band’s current, beautifully crafted six-track EP is about sticking close to the people they love, learning to grow in relationships despite anxiety, ambition and uncertainty, plus to serve as a reminder of what is important.

Leading on from plays on Sian Eleri’s Future Artist’s on BBC Radio 1 and Craig Charles’ BBC 6 Music show, the West Coast trio are primed for their first UK/EU shows in May, including stops at tastemaker fests The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Liverpool Sound City, The Road to The Great Escape and London Calling in Amsterdam.

Off the back of their debut-national-sold-out-tour, Rolling Stone described the band as “one of the most exciting bands to come out of Australia’s indie-rock scene in years” and that form flowed through their Bad Dreams EP tour with sold out banners across Eora/Sydney, Narrm/Melbourne, Tarntanya/Adelaide and a hometown 1,000 capacity show at Port Beach Brewery, plus 2 x sold out U18 shows in 48 hours.

EP title-track ‘Bad Dreams’ hit #154 on triple j’s Hottest 200 was top 5 most played song on triple j. Previous release ‘Don’t Feel Right’ climbed Shazam Charts across the country and was #1 most played song on triple j for multiple weeks and they were cover stars of ‘Rock Out.’ on Spotify and are favourites to countless Apple Music and Spotify playlists across the globe.

Appropriately noted as ‘Ones To Watch’ by triple j and selected as the Unearthed Competition Winner for Busselton’s One Night Stand (the only ever act to win an Unearthed Competition, twice) they look back at impressive festival sets at Rolling Sets, The Great Escape, HYPER FEST, NYE On The Hill, Out & About Festival, Groovin the Moo Festival, Tone City Records Festival. They have also impressed on support-act duties for luminaries Spacey Jane, Skegss, Old Mervs, Ball Park Music and The Rions.

Having played music together since they were kids, the boys have polished their own unique brand of grungey and emotive music that focuses on big choruses and heavy-hitting instrumentation. Taking influence from the ’90s and early 2000s rock that they grew up listening to, there is an air of nostalgia to Fool Nelson’s music that is familiar but fresh.
