Cathy Nelson-Williams

Cathy Nelson-Williams is the Director of Creative and Licensing for Wise Music Group – APAC (part of the Wise Music Group), promoting their extensive catalogue of over 500,000 + copyrights across Film, TV, Advertising and all other audiovisual productions across Australia, Aotearoa and Asia. She also oversees all Grand Rights licensing for stage Productions across the region (Opera, Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Musicals).

Cathy began her career with a classical music foundation, studying classical guitar and violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In the early 2000s, she released two recordings with her sister and toured internationally as a classical guitar duo before moving into advertising and marketing. Over the following decade, she worked across multinational brands including Toyota, Nestlé, Microsoft and Unilever, developing deep expertise in brand strategy and creative partnerships. Her passion for music ultimately drew her back to the industry into music publishing, where she now specialises in creative licensing and synchronisation. Combining firsthand experience as a musician with a strong commercial background, Cathy brings a unique perspective to connecting songwriters and composers with opportunities across film, television, advertising and brands.
