Dan Gibson
Dan Gibson is GYRO.Group’s Head of Publishing and Sync, working across music supervision, licensing, and rights management for film, television and advertising. He began his career in New York City as a musician, spending six years performing, touring, writing, and producing before transitioning into sync and licensing, contributing to projects including The Affair and Breaking Amish.
Since relocating to Australia in 2017, Dan has built a career spanning music supervision and commercial licensing through his company Good Time Mgmt, alongside roles with companies including Universal Music Publishing. His work sits at the intersection of creative and commercial, with a strong focus on music rights, clearances, and deal structuring across screen and media. He brings a strong instinct for music curation, shaped by his background as a working musician, with an ear for songs that connect creatively while delivering commercially.
At GYRO.Group, Dan has secured and worked across sync placements including Skate (EA Sports), Ginny & Georgia (Netflix), and the feature film The Mongoose starring Liam Neeson, alongside campaigns for brands including Google, Levi’s, and Afterpay.
He worked across scripted music clearances on Amazon Prime’s adaptation of The Narrow Road to the Deep North, recognised with multiple AACTA Awards including Best Original Score and Best Sound in Television.
His work also includes music supervision for Here – by 3x World Surfing Champion John John Florence, widely regarded as the gold standard in surf storytelling – and his six-part episodic VELA.
