Dorian Jones
Dorian Jones is a cultural leader and arts executive with a long-standing commitment to young people, music education, and creative collaboration. As Chief Executive Officer of Melbourne Youth Orchestras, he leads one of Australia’s largest youth music organisations, supporting more than 650 young musicians each week through orchestral, jazz, and ensemble music programs. His work centres on equity of access, artistic excellence, and building pathways from early participation through to professional music careers.
Dorian has driven major initiatives including innovative online learning during COVID, the formation of the Australian Network of Youth Orchestras, and high-profile collaborations such as Warta-Kiki with Kutcha Edwards, raising funds for first nations children’s music education. He is known for championing strong and imaginative partnerships that expand opportunities for young musicians and strengthen the cultural ecosystem around them. Through strategic leadership and a focus on student-centred care, Dorian continues to shape programs and experiences that help young people thrive.
