Gene Castillo

Brisbane-based Producer and Mixing Engineer, and one half of the production duo RSHR (Rush Hour), working across music, audio, and creative collaboration.

I’ve worked with ARIA-winning artists including Kobie Dee, Barkaa and Nerve, alongside international acts such as Smiley, Roy Woods, Baka Not Nice (OVO Sound), Oliver Tree, and Diplo. My work has spanned independent and major-label projects, including contributions to the soundtrack for Netflix’s Ultraman: Rising. Across all projects, my focus is on strong creative intent, clean execution, and collaboration that actually moves the needle.

Alongside my creative practice, I work as an Industry Learning Partner at SAE University College, where I sit at the intersection of education and industry. In this role, I support students in gaining real-world experience, building professional networks, and transitioning confidently from study into creative careers. I work closely with industry partners to develop meaningful placements, collaborations, and pathways that reflect how the creative industries actually operate.
