Sean Foran

Sean Foran is an award-winning Australian pianist and composer recognised for a distinctive, lyrical voice at the intersection of contemporary jazz and chamber music. An ARIA nominee, he has received the APRA Professional Development Award (Jazz), the APRA/AMC Award for Excellence in Jazz, seven Queensland Music Awards, and the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Emerging Artist Fellowship.
Foran is a founding member of acclaimed trios Trichotomy and Berardi/Foran/Karlen, touring extensively across Europe, the UK, Australia and Asia with performances at Tokyo Jazz Festival, Vossa Jazz (Norway), jazzahead! Bremen, and the Takatsuki & Kutchan Jazz Festivals (Japan). His recordings appear on international labels in Australia, the UK, Holland and Japan.

He has collaborated with Julian Argüelles, Stuart McCallum, and Pascal Schumacher, and worked with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Expressions Dance Company and leading Australian string quartets and chamber ensembles. His compositions have been commissioned by major festivals and arts organisations and he continues to foster cross-border collaborations.
