With a voice described as ‘truly astonishing’ by Rolling Stone, Anna Smyrk is a powerful singer and song-maker from Australia. Her songs range from hook-laden anthems to vulnerable alt-folk ballads, all tied together by her stunning voice and astute lyricism.

The last year has been massive for Anna, with highlights including touring North America and Europe and official showcases at SXSW (Austin TX) and Folk Alliance International (Kansas City, MO).

Anna’s most recent EP, Cortisol and Blue Light, was recorded in Nashville with award-winning producers Jake Finch and Collin Pastore (boygenius, Lucy Dacus). The record sizzles with smart songwriting and wry observations as it explores themes of fight or flight and the push/pull effect in relationships. The record charted on US college radio and singles were added to MTV.

Anna has toured widely all over the world, playing major festivals like Port Fairy (Aus), Woodford (Aus) and Mile of Music (WI) and supporting some of Australia’s most beloved artists. Byron Bay singer, ukulele-strummer and drummer Bobby Alu delivers smooth harmonies, Pacific rhythms, and island grooves. Though it’s not all palm trees and daydreams – there’s a robust energy in Alu’s mastery of Samoan log drums, and songwriting that nods to world, roots and pop intelligence.

Australian sister duo Charm of Finches delivers intricate folk-pop that is simultaneously graceful and darkly bewitching. Their seamless blood harmonies traverse melancholy and wonder in equal measure.

The sisters, Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, have toured extensively through the UK, Europe and Canada in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Their fourth studio album ‘Marlinchen In The Snow’ was recorded in rural Nova Scotia with acclaimed Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, Good Lovelies), inspired by the frozen beauty of the landscape and their transient life on the road with their music. It was released on iconic Australian Indie label Spunk Records in April 2024, debuting on the national ARIA charts Top 30 Aus Albums.

Their third album ‘Wonderful Oblivion’ released in 2021 through New York-based label AntiFragile Music saw them win the Australian Folk Music Awards Best Folk Album (2022) and Music Victoria Best Contemporary Folk Act (2021).

CJ Stranger combines old school Australian storytelling with indie-folk grit and a constantly adventurous guitar style. He’ll draw you in with humorous comments on the absurdities of life before telling you a folk tale so lyrically vivid you feel like you’re in it. He returns this year with a new live album recorded at Dashville Skyline in the Hunter Valley showcasing the best of his lyrically deep and musically quirky songwriting.

His unique guitar playing has been widely recognised having worked with renowned Australian artists including William Crighton, John Schumann (Redgum), Middle Kids, Lisa McCune, Melody Pool, Coda Chroma, Angie Who as well as performing onstage in theatre productions such as ‘Girl from the North Country’ (Bob Dylan).

Claire Anne Taylor grew up in Tasmania’s ancient Tarkine rainforest, where she was born into her Father’s hands in the family barn. Taylor and her five siblings were raised in a quaint bush home, rich with creativity and music. During her childhood, the Taylor barn was home to a family of Tasmanian Devils and some say that Taylor developed her unique, raspy singing style from nights spent listening to the devils growling beneath the floorboards.

What sets Claire Anne Taylor apart is her voice and her storytelling. With a soulful, velvet and world-worn quality, she sings stories that command audiences to silence. ARIA nominate and most recently a finalist for the prestigious Art Music Awards for Best Jazz Work 2023 as well as composer of the score to award winning documentary ‘To Thank The Room’, Emily-Rose’s music is always thoughtful and highly crafted. Her latest escapades find her collaborating with Toronto based producer and multi-instrumentalist Jaron Freeman-Fox in their band Shark & Fox, front woman of Emily-Rose & The Wild Things, half of songwriting duo Little Clouds and member of award winning chamber-folk group The Good Behaviours.

Emily-Rose is also co-founder of Bespoke Folk Music, a boutique touring agency in Australia, as well as Peppermint Grove Studios & Records, where she co-produces much of the studio’s output.

ARIA-winner Georgia Mooney makes music fit for stargazing. Audiences first came to know her from beloved folk band, All Our Exes Live in Texas, who toured the world extensively, sharing stages with everyone from Backstreet Boys to Nathaniel Rateliff to Midnight Oil.

The release of Mooney’s debut solo album Full of Moon marks the stepping forward of a major talent. Co-produced with Grammy-winner Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Cate Le Bon, Marlon Williams), the album is an ornately melodic, folk/dream-pop universe, carried by Mooney’s soaring ethereal vocals over lush, cinematic soundscapes.

Nominated for an ARIA and two AIR Awards, described by The Australian as “nothing short of a triumph.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2”, and dripping in critical acclaim worldwide, Full of Moon has seen Mooney embark on a 55-date Australian tour with Kate Miller-Heidke, open for Martha Wainwright at Sydney City Recital Hall, tour the UK and Ireland, curate and host a sold-out variety series with comedian Rhys Nicholson for Vivid Sydney, and sell out a run of Australian headline shows.

An avowed Star Wars nerd who presents as a 40s movie star, Mooney seems both from a long time ago and a galaxy far away while speaking directly to the present. Her music is intricate, handcrafted, and richly melodic. Influences from Joni Mitchell, the Great American Songbook, and classical composers sift through her songs, alongside production that evokes the unsettling genius of Kate Bush. Add to that ribald stage banter engendering frequent comparisons to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and it’s no wonder Georgia is captivating audiences all over the world.

From Wonnarua Country, Maitland NSW, Georgie Winchester grew up on a remote cattle farm with two sisters, dial up and Disney Channel. As well as being an obsessed Hannah Montana fan, Georgie took a liking to her father’s extensive CD collection, The Beatles especially. Georgie picked up classical piano at age 7, sang in choirs and joined the school jazz band scatting Ella Fitzgerald and Diana Krall.

​When Georgie finished up a politics degree in Melbourne, she picked up the guitar for the first time and wrote a song after watching Stella Donnelly live at a Uni gig. Since then, Georgie pivoted, moved home, studied audio engineering at SAE and started up a career in music.

​Georgie released her self-recorded debut folk album ‘Follow The Sound’ in 2023 and supported the likes of Thelma Plum, Smith Street Band & The Rubens.

In 2024, Georgie played Spilt Milk supporting G-Flip, Glass Animals & Troy Sivan and was the recipient of the Australian Independent Records Association, Women In Music Mentorship program working with manager/artist Al Parkinson. Georgie is an artist-in-residence at the Newcastle Lighthouse and showcased at the 2024 International Folk Alliance, Kansas City USA in March. Georgie recently released a single collaboration with friend Joel Leggett and another with DJ artist Just A Gent.

Georgie recorded and released an EP with platinum-award winning producer & engineer Garrett Kato (Ziggy Alberts, Angus & Julia Stone), and supported this release with a 60+ date Australian tour supporting Maple Glider, Smith Street Band, Le Shiv & Bob Evans, with the help from a Create NSW grant. On this lap around Australia, Georgie wrote her upcoming self-titled rock and roll album, and recorded it after tour at Dashville Festival Studios.

​Georgie has made plans to tour Canada and showcase at the 2025 International Folk Alliance, and will release her sophomore album in 2025.

With echoes of Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver, Taiwanese-Australian singer-songwriter Kim Yang’s ethereal music combines soaring vocals, soothing melodies, and evocative lyrics. She is an open and candid presence on stage who guides audiences through stories of love, life, tragedy, and joy.

Kim was nominated as Australia’s MusicACT Artist of the Year 2022 and National Live Music Awards Best Live Voice (ACT) 2023. She has charmed festival audiences across Australia, Canada, the UK and Taiwan. Currently residing in Beijing China, Kim shares songs in various languages with cross-cultural stories that resonate with listeners of all sorts.

Kim will start releasing singles from her debut album in 2025. This bilingual album will feature songs in English and Mandarin and is the culmination of years of work, reflecting Kim’s upbringing in Taiwan and her adult life in Australia. The album will build on the success of Kim’s two EPs Brave (2021) and Ocean of Mind (2019).

Lior & Domini is a collaboration between one of Australia’s most distinguished singer-songwriters Lior and talented emerging artist Domini Forster. Underpinned by intricate finger-picked guitar, the pair’s flawless vocal harmonies are the focal point of their music, harking back to iconic folk duos of the 60s.

The project is the fruit of a creative partnership developed over six years touring together – initially with Domini as Lior’s support act, then as a guest vocalist, and now as co-writer and collaborator. ‘Singing together, Domini and I can weave in and out of each other’s shadow. We sense one another’s vocal nuances in real time. It is a rare musical synergy, one we felt compelled to capture in a collaborative project’ says Lior.

Lior & Domini released their debut EP Animal In Hiding in late 2021 to national critical acclaim, receiving 4.5 star reviews in Australia’s premiere newspapers The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age as well as extensive coverage on national radio. The pair toured the EP throughout 2022-23, playing over 60 shows nationally including headline appearances at major music festivals including Port Fairy Folk Festival (VIC) and Woodford Folk Festival (QLD).

He recorded his debut EP “Real” in 2019 and his debut full-length self-titled album in 2023.

New ‘Strange Adrenaline’ brings Vazer into the dawn of a new era, delving deeper into the cinematic sounds and heart-stopping stories of the Melbourne songwriter and her expanding ritual of building worlds through song.

Norwood is the project of Naarm/Melbourne based singer-songwriters Olivia Bolmat and Nathaniel Peacock. Formed through a shared admiration of upfront lyricism and inseparable harmonies, the pair have always aimed to create songs that find weight in their unassuming tenderness. Drawing influence from artists like Neil Young, Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch, the duo fuses Americana inspiration with the alt-folk sounds of their home city, piecing together tentative vulnerability with candid self-awareness to craft their own take on observational songwriting.

Hailing from the deep south of regional Western Australia, Oceanique combines close harmonies, wonder and warm melodies leaving you with the feeling of staring up at a big blue country sky. Now based in Melbourne, twin sisters Maddy and Jess craft music rich in the folk storytelling tradition with seamless blood harmonies and reflective lyrics. A sound that calls to mind the sibling harmonies of First Aid Kit and The Waifs.

Oceanique have been crafting their unique folk music since 2019, they were awarded Folk Alliance Australia’s ‘Youth Artist of the Year’ (2022) and Port Fairy Folk Festivals ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’ (2024), welcoming them into the arms of the Australian folk music community, seeing them playing some of Australia’s most prestigious folk festivals in 2023-2024, National Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, National Celtic Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Port Fairy Folk Festival along with supporting artists like The Waifs, Emily Barker and Little Quirks. As well as performing their own headline shows across Australia, Oceanique released their debut album ‘Would The Light Hold Me’ in 2023 and a live EP in April 2024 which received national and international praise. Oceanique performed at the Folk Alliance International showcase 2024 in Kansas City, with 6 successful showcases. The duo are working on their second album with the first single from the release set for Feb 13th 2025 alongside a Canadian tour ahead of their Official Showcase at Folk Alliance International in Montreal. With their sophomore album out on the 27th June 2025.
