Melbourne Int'l Jazz Festival

Across ten days every October, Melbourne International Jazz Festival brings the joy of jazz to the city streets. With over 130 performances and 550 artists, we draw in crowds of more than 60,000 people each year—taking over Melbourne’s iconic spaces and packing out its concert halls.

The festival’s Modern Masters series brings global icons to Melbourne to play alongside leading and emerging Australian artists at venues like the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Hamer Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre. Each year, we commission new work and present a diverse series of local artists who are actively shaping the definition and future of Australian jazz.

In partnership with Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Sounds Australia will be leading a contemporary jazz music trade delegation into Melbourne this October.

Melbourne Jazz Meet-Up

Sounds Australia and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival would like to invite those involved in the jazz community to drinks to catch up with fellow musicians and practitioners from around Australia, as well as meet the delegation of international festival programmers in the city for the festival.
