Betty Taylor
Betty Taylor is the friend who holds your hand after a heartbreak. Fronted by Sophie Patrick, with harmonies and dreamy guitar from Kayla Smart (AKA Dorah Jacson), the band is rounded out by Claire Chittick (bass) and Katie Ishaque (drums).
From an open mic to a backyard show just two and a half years ago, Betty Taylor has quickly become one of Australia’s most beloved emerging acts. After signing with Hello Gardener in late 2022, their debut single ‘Stallin’, produced by Aidan Hogg (G Flip, Holy Holy), premiered on triple j and has since surpassed 1 million streams.
In 2023, the band joined WME and performed alongside girl in red, Beddy Rays, and The Rubens, while appearing at Groovin the Moo and Big Pineapple. Their second single Glitter received strong triple j support and a national spotlight via Australian Made with Abbie Chatfield.
Breakout tracks ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Young Dumb Immature’ landed in triple j’s top ten most-played tracks and secured major editorial support across Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
Following a UK, Ireland, and European tour supporting The Grogans, the band released their debut EP Young Dumb Immature in December 2024. The release charted top 20 on NACC in the US and led to an official SXSW 2025 showcase.
In 2025, Betty Taylor returned to the UK to perform at Live At Leeds, followed by headline shows across the UK and Ireland, earning their first BBC Radio 1 airplay. They were later announced for BottleRock Festival 2026 alongside Lorde, Sombre, and Teddy Swims.
With over 3 million streams and a rapidly growing global audience, Betty Taylor continue to build as one of indie music’s most exciting rising acts.
