Focus Wales 2026

Australia will be represented at this week’s conference in Wrexham, Wales.

The 16th edition of Focus Wales will take place this week in Wrexham, Wales, with an expected audience of around 25,000 people turning out to see over 250 acts from around the world peform across 20 stages.

One of those acts will be South Australia’s Teenage Joans, showcasing on Thursday 7 May at 8:50pm at Black Penny Room 1.

Sounds Australia will also be at this week’s event, with Dom Alessio from our team participating in the Conference side of Focus Wales. He’ll be speaking on the panel Global Perspectives – Seeing The World Through A Cultural Lens, presented by the British Council, on Saturday 9 May at 10:00am. Dom will be joined by Gugai MacNamara (Róisín Dubh / Galway International Arts Festival / Strange Brew, Ireland), Piyapong “Py” Muenprasertdee (Fungjai Co, Ltd, Thailand) and Valeria Ramos (MUSICMEX/MalfiCo, Mexico), with the panel moderated by the British Council’s Elena Schmitz.
