They say that bad luck happens in threes, but Saturday in New York City proved the complete opposite: the Knicks won their first NBA Championship in 53 years, Australia defeated Türkiye in their first game of the World Cup, and NYC’s largest celebration of Australian music came to the Seaport.
After five years in Central Park, THE AUSSIE BBQ moved to a brand new home on Fulton and Front St in the historic Seaport neighbourhood of New York. With the sun out and the temperature up, the Seaport was absolutely buzzing all day, while eight Australian acts took to the stage: aleksiah, Betty Taylor, BOY SODA, BRUX, Jack Botts, Mallrat, Shouse and Velvet Trip.
Thank you to The Seaport for presenting THE AUSSIE BBQ NYC with us this year and Qantas for their support. Thank you also to Old Mates Pub, WeWearAustralian, Bondi Beer and SUNBOY. And, of course, a big thank you to the thousands of New Yorkers who spent the day and evening watching some incredible Australian music. We can’t wait to see you all again in 2027.
