Now in its 20th year, The Great Escape Festival in Brighton consistently draws a large number of Australian artists and industry to the English seaside. This year, 28 Australian acts performed on stages all over town, and we presented two showcases in partnership with the Australian High Commission in the UK and Tourism Australia.
Mosh pits and mid-show costume changes featured at our showcase at Komedia on the Thursday afternoon, where we took over both levels of the venue and hosted one of the most sonically diverse showcases you could find in Brighton this year. On Saturday we returned to TGE Beach with 17 acts performing across three stages, including one presented by our mates at Ones To Watch.
In the middle of all that, we held a networking lunch for Australian and UK industry, hosting 140 people at Franco Manca, including Australia’s High Commissioner to the UK, the Hon Jay Weatherill AO, and we were honoured to have him say a few words as well.
