Sounds Australia is excited to announce the return of THE AUSSIE BBQ to SXSW in a brand new venue for 2025.

What began over 20 years ago in a carpark out the back of Emo’s has grown to become recognised globally as the place to discover the next generation of Australian talent. This year THE AUSSIE BBQ is moving to a new venue: Sounds Australia House at The Creek & Cave on 7th St. Over two days, Sounds Australia House will be where you can find the best Australian music at one of the world’s premier new music events

During the day on Thursday March 13 and Friday March 14, THE AUSSIE BBQ will showcase Australian acts across two stages. On Thursday night, Sounds Australia House will welcome Australian music tech company DistroDirect and UK promoters Greyline who will both host their own stages.

Artists who have previously showcased at SXSW include Alison Wonderland, Amyl & The Sniffers, Angie McMahon, Courtney Barnett, DMA’S, Flight Facilities, Flume, G Flip, Gang of Youths, Hatchie, Hiatus Kaiyote, Julia Jacklin, Karnivool, Mallrat, Matt Corby, Methyl Ethel, Middle Kids, RUFUS DU SOL, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, RVG, Stella Donnelly, The Teskey Brothers, Tkay Maidza, Troye Sivan, Vacations and Vance Joy.
