Last week, in partnership with the @australianmusiccentre, we led a delegation of Australian classical and art music professionals to @classicalnext in Hannover.

It was an exciting year for Australia, with @zubinkanga selected as one of this year’s showcasing artists, and Ngarra-Burria (a partnership between @moogahlin, the @australianmusiccentre, the @anuschoolofmusic & @ensembleoffspring) winning the Classical:NEXT Innovation Award.

There’ll be no conference next year, but we look forward to seeing everyone in 2024 (although hopefully before that, in other parts of the world!)

Last week, with support from Tourism @Australia, THE AUSSIE BBQ London returned to @colourshoxton for the first time in three years, with 20 Australian artists showcasing across two stages.

We were so excited to be back, and thank you to everyone who came along, even with the rain and the FA Cup finals - and huge thanks to @art.wozniak who captured these awesome photos from the showcase.

#TheAussieBBQ London was a part of the #UKAUSeason 2021-22.

A few weekends ago, on Saturday May 14, Brighton absolutely turned it on for our showcase at TGE Beach for this year's @greatescapefest - our first showcase there in three years.

It was a glorious day to watch Australian artists take over three stages on a sunny afternoon, and a huge thank you to everyone who came along to watch them. We hope you discovered your new favourite Australian act.

This showcase was also a part of the #UKAUSeason 2021-22.

We absolutely loved being back, and a huge thank you to all the Komedia staff and everyone who came to see the showcasing artists.

We’re back in Brighton, baby!

This week, with support from Tourism @Australia, we're back in the UK for the first time since 2019 to produce showcases and networking events at @greatescapefest in Brighton, and host THE AUSSIE BBQ London at @colourshoxton.

24 Australian acts are heading to Brighton, and we're hosting two showcases across five stages: today at @komedia_brighton and Saturday on TGE Beach.

Then on Sunday, as part of the #UKAUSeason 2021-22, THE AUSSIE BBQ London will return to Colours Hoxton. 20 Australian acts, 2 stages, almost 12 hours of music. Tickets are on sale now.

Sixteen Australian music industry bodies representing an industry worth $16 billion a year to the digital, entertainment, hospitality, and tourism economies have come together to outline a three-point plan in the lead-up to the 2022 Federal Election.

22 Australian artists will showcase as part of @Folk_Alliance International over the next few weeks, taking place virtually as well as in Kansas City.

This year's official showcasing artists include @annasmyrk, @charmoffinchesband, @colin.lillie.music, @georgiamooney, @nigelwearne, @theheartcollectors and @xani.k.

@bobby_alu, @ernest_aines, @georgiastateline, @glennskuthorpemusic, @grettaziller, @joelhavea, @lorenryanmusic, @marthamarlow, @melaniehorsnell, @nancybatesmusician, @parvynmusic, @rubymarygill, @ruth_hazleton, @theweepingwillows and @wemavericksmusic will perform spotlight showcases.

We will also host our CLOSE UP spotlight showcase on Monday May 9 at 7pm CDT.

We're thrilled to announce that THE AUSSIE BBQ is returning to SummerStage in Central Park, New York City.

On Saturday June 18, @CapitalOne @CPFNYC @SummerStage and Sounds Australia will present THE AUSSIE BBQ for the first time in three years to showcase a new class of undeniable Australian talent, in association with the @AusConsulateNY and @DFAT.

There will be performances from @dabakerboy, @electricfields_music, @gflip, @haikuhands, @pekingduk and @youami_gbtflou.

@jazzahead is taking place this week in Bremen, Germany, and we'll be there in partnership with the @australianmusiccentre with a delegation of Australian jazz artists and industry professionals.

@brekkyboy will be showcasing at the conference on Saturday as part of Overseas Night. They've also curated a playlist featuring some of their favourite contemporary Australian jazz artists, and you can take a listen to it on @applemusic, @deezer, @spotify and @youtube. The link is in our bio.

Sounds Australia, AIR (@ausindies) and the PPCA are now seeking expressions of interest from Australian independent labels to take part in a delegation to attend Indie Week 2022 in New York City, an independent label focused conference hosted by @a2im from June 13 - 16.

Sounds Australia will be covering registration costs – valued at $579.99 USD.

Due to limited capacity, we're asking all interested parties to show an expression of interest by filling out a survey - there’s a link in our bio.

The deadline to submit your survey is Wednesday April 20.

Over the last few days MANE, Phebe Starr and Jack Gray have performed short sets as part of a format we call 2 For The Showcase.

Registrations are open for our Sounds Sessions: Live In The Time Of Omicron virtual panel, taking place next Tuesday February 1 at 8:30am AEDT. The link is in our bio. Today we wanted to introduce you to the panellists who'll be joining us next week and giving you an update on what touring in different parts of the world looks like right now.

Silke Westera started working in the music business about 20 years ago. She has been with @FKP.Scorpio for almost as long, first as a trainee, then as a booker for founder Folkert Koopmans, for whom she looked after artists like Beastie Boys, Placebo and Band of Horses amongst others. Over a decade ago she was offered the chance to become a promoter herself. Since then she has built up her roster, which includes Aldous Harding, Amy Shark, Big Thief, Hollow Coves, James Bay, Middle Kids, Skegss, Tom Walker, Warpaint and many more.

Marshall Betts (@Betts360) has been in the music industry for over a decade with agency experience at both the boutique and major levels. Marshall has worked with artists from their earliest developmental stages through arena tours. He finds joy in discovering the best up and coming talent in the independent music sphere and beyond. He represents Courtney Barnett, Alvvays, Jay Som, Julia Jacklin, Guided By Voices, and many more. He is based in New York.

After 10 years touring internationally as an artist, @Alex_Bruford started work as an agent at Reprise Agency in London. Alex founded @ATC_Live agency in partnership with ATC in 2011, and the company now represents 400 artists. Alex’s roster includes Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, The Lumineers, Fontaines D.C, Sleaford Mods, Metronomy, Black Pumas, Julia Jacklin and Amyl and the Sniffers, and he was voted Agent Of The Year at the 2018 European Festival Awards.
