Individuals and groups
This program supports individuals and groups to undertake projects that enable them to further their careers, enrich their artistic practice and contribute to Tasmania’s arts sector.

Eligibility
As the applicant, you must be:

  • an individual artist or member of a group of artists who have lived in Tasmania for six of the last 12 months

What can I apply for?
You can apply for funds towards:

  • creative development and research
  • presenting work (exhibitions, performances, and publications)
  • recording or producing work
  • local, national, or international residencies
  • professional development opportunities
  • market and audience development (including promotion)

Arts Tasmania expects that artists are paid fairly for their work. Artist wages and fees should be included in all application budgets. For more information, please visit the artist remuneration guidelines.

You cannot use grant funds to purchase equipment.

How much can I apply for?
You can apply for up to $30,000. You can make one application each round but can be named as a collaborator or group member on other applications.

RANT ARTS

Regional Arts Fund – Quick Response Grants

Quick Response Grants will fund professional development opportunities for artists and arts workers or small project opportunities. The program supports immediate need that arises where the activity is unable to be planned for or supported in other funding rounds, for example taking up professional development, skills development or small project opportunities at short notice.

The Regional Arts Fund is managed in Tasmania by RANT Arts and applications are only accepted from Tasmanian artists/ arts workers or organisations.

You can apply for Quick Response Grants up to $3,000 for individuals and $5,000 for organisations. There is no minimum grant amount. Funding applications are assessed against other applications on a competitive basis. To remain competitive, all applications for funding must include realistic budgets and represent value with money. To be considered for funding for the QRG’s an applicant must demonstrate that there is no other funding program for which the proposal is eligible either by its nature or its timing.

The Quick Response Grant program is open 10 times each year during the following months: February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October and November. Applications submitted by 11:59pm on the last day of each month.

*Please note: Projects must start no sooner than 10 business days after the close of the relevant grant round and no later than 60 days after the round closing.

  • Opens 9:00am 1st February 2024 – Closes 11:59pm 29th February 2024

  • Opens 9:00am 1st March 2024 – Closes 11:59pm 31st March 2024

  • Opens 9:00am 1st May 2024 – Closes 11:59pm 31st May 2024

  • Opens 9:00am 1st June 2024 – Closes 11:59pm 30th June 2024
